Karen Halo LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) was overcome by fumes from carpet and paint, while doing a home improvement project. In the Emergency Room, she vowed this should not happen to anyone else.

Karen was shocked to learn the toxicity and lack of regulation for household and commercial products. It became clear she had to share this knowledge about sustainable and healthy choices for living and working environments.

With a background in architecture, building (she built an Extreme Home Makeover Edition house for ABC) and medicine, she began her formal education with the United States Green Building Council. She became a specialist (LEED) in Indoor Air Quality, Water Conservation, Energy Use, Recycling and Sustainable Construction Materials.

Currently on the Speakers and Exhibits Board for the USGBC-NJ and a Board Member of (ULI) Urban Land Institute-NJ, Halo is a passionate speaker and advisor for corporations and consumers.
