Asparagus Fern

According to a recent study, some plants can help by removing harmful chemicals from the air. The compounds removed are toulene, octaone, alpha-Pinene, benzene and trichloroethylene.

The Asparagus Fern is a good filter for these chemicals.

Now that we are almost at the official “First Day of Spring” many of us are staring to sort through our belongings. Before you toss out something that may be used or recycled, ask your friends if they can use it, post on craigslist/freecycle or donate to a non-profit. Your unused items could be put to use by someone else.   Tag sales are always a good way to generate some extra cash.  Passionate collectors are usually hunting for what you have stored in your basement or garage for years.  

 So this year as you clean out your closets, before you throw anything  out , think about: 1) Who can reuse this?  2) Does it have another use? 3) Can it be recycled? (if unsure check your local town website )

If we all ask ourselves these types of questions, we can divert many items from the landfills and help others out too.

After watching “A River Runs Through It” for the thousandth time, (yes, it’s Brad Pitt at his finest hour but the zen of fly-fishing is incredible) I always wanted to put on some waders and give it a try.
